Discover the splendid gardens of Bellefield House in County Offaly. Owned by garden designer Angela Jupe, Bellefield has featured on several television programmes and in a number of publications.
Explore the stunning walled gardens and pretty woodland areas. Marvel at the amazing collection of plants, flowers and shrubs with Bellefield showcasing one of the largest snowdrop collections in Ireland. Spot daffodils, hellebores, peonies, roses and tulips and, in autumn, Angela grows an impressive selection of fruit and vegetables.

Check out the picturesque holiday cottages converted from the old farm and gate lodge. These bright and spacious cottages each have their own garden and access to the main gardens. They sleep two to four people, enjoy a family break or plan a few days away with friends.

Wander around the Victorian glasshouse, designed by Angela and made from salvaged materials. See the Eastern style fern folly and don’t miss the dramatic water feature in the garden.

About Angela Jupe

With over 30 years experience in architecture and garden landscape design.

Angela’s passion for restoration is everywhere you look from the salvaged material used to recreate the Victorian glasshouse to converting the stables of former grand national winners into beautiful cottages for holiday makers to avail of some peace and quiet. She loves to create unique structures and water features such as the rill lined with Japanese iris and the eastern style folly within the garden.

Angela welcomes you to walk her sandstone walled garden through spring, summer and autumn to see the colours change with the seasons that display plentiful varieties of snowdrops, tulips, peonies and many more to explore.

Bellefield Gardens

Two acres of walled gardens built of local Tipperary sandstone have been restored, a woodland area planted with spring bulbs.
More recently a 30 meter long rill and pond has been added to the glasshouse garden.

Set within the courtyard and at the entrance to an 18th century Georgian farmhouse, Bellefield cottages are converted from the the farm and stable buildings of a former stud where a number of Grand National winners were bred in the 1950’s.

Events at Bellefield

Special Events

Catering can be arranged for visiting groups of 10 or more. Food for events and open days is often produce from the garden catered by Sarah Webb of the Gallic Kitchen. The garden too can provide a beautiful location for birthday or anniversary parties.
